The fruit enterprise is based at Sidnall Farm, situated only 1/2 mile from the home farm, but 700ft above sea level.
This farm has well draining south facing slopes, silty clay loam soils with sheltered fields suitable for commercial fruit growing.
The beautiful panoramic views stretch across Herefordshire to The Malvern Hills in the East.
The fruit enterprise of 70 acres consist of Sweet Cherries, Raspberries and Bramley Apples. There is a dedicated British Retail Consortium Audited Packhouse and cold storage area where the fruit is graded and packed.
The operation is continually expanding especially in Cherry production. Lower Hope Cherries led the way in the revival of British cherry growing, introducing new rootstock and growing management enable the juiciest, sweetest and biggest cherries to be picked fresh from the orchards.
In recognition of their pioneering resurgence in cherry growing Lower Hope Cherries were awarded Grower of the Year in 2011.
Lower Hope is a member of Berry Gardens who market our fruit locally and to the leading supermarkets around the UK. We also supply independant users and shops, via local wholesale markets further afield.
